I am a senior at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. I am a Comparative Women's Studies major with a concentration in world religions…

I love learning!!! Many of my friends are much older than I am and it's great because I am always in an enviornment to learn something… I guess that's why I chose the title “Shideezhi”… because it means “little sister”.

My passions would have to be… meeting new and exciting, world changing people, teaching children, philosophy, playing with animals, reading about feminist/womanist thought, reading about religions, fine arts (absolutely all forms!), writing, documenting my life journey, baking… and creating new baking recipies!! lately I have been 'remixing' chocolate chip cookies, lol. The two that made it to the top were lavendar, chocolate chip, walnut….. and cherry, chocolate chip, walnut. :) … oh and lemon, ginger, mango bars….YAY!! for organic snacks!!!!  :D

Spelman's literary magazine, Fire Too!! was created by yours truely. It is a literary magazine dedicated to young Black artists. I was inspired by the original Fire!! literary magazine of the Harlem Renaissance… it started just as an ephemeral project for my African Diaspora and the World course but I wanted to make it more than that. A new edition is released every year. I am so very proud of what a success it has become and I am thankful to all of the young artists that have shared their talents and time.

I love picking up instruments and jamming with people. I like recycling things into art… and doing my part for the enviornment. I love plants and growing veggies… and R. Thomas smoothies. I have learned to love that I am really random because I think really fast, lol. I hope this all makes sense.

People, people, people!!! I love to love! I love giving and getting good energy… spreading it around.  I love meeting people at bookstores and have meaningful conversations with strangers… I love hot tea and cocoa… and I love to try new things as often as i can.
